NISTP General Information
If you are interested in student teaching in Washington, DC, or Houston, Texas, please attend one of the general information meetings. These meetings are usually held the second week of fall and winter semesters. Dates and times vary each semester, but they are always posted on the doors of the McKay Building one week in advance.

Student Teaching Sites
Houston, Texas
Location: Schools in Aldine Independent School District, located 17 miles north of downtown Houston.
Cost: BYU tuition, transportation, housing, food, and personal expenses.
Washington, DC Area
Location: Fairfax County Public Schools, VA.
Cost: BYU tuition, transportation, housing, food, and personal expenses.
Note: Washington, DC, does not have teaching opportunities in Family and Consumer Sciences Ed.
General Expenses
Tuition
You will pay regular BYU tuition.
Housing
BYU housing applies. The cost is comparable to Provo rent.
Food
You are responsible for food expenses.
Airfare
Current rates vary; all travel is the obligation of the student.
Personal
Miscellaneous expenses and local travel are the obligation of the student.
