Kendra M. Hall-Kenyon has been named the interim dean of the McKay School of Education following former dean Richard Osguthorpe’s appointment as associate academic vice president of undergraduate studies.

Hall-Kenyon graduated from BYU with her bachelor’s degree in family science. She also has her MA and PhD in human development from Columbia University.

Hall-Kenyon has spent her career teaching and conducting research focused on early literacy instruction and assessment and teacher education. Hall-Kenyon began her career at BYU in 2002 in the Department of Teacher Education where she has served as the department chair since 2016.

"I am grateful to Kendra for taking on this new responsibility. I know she will have an impact on her college during her time as interim dean," says Shane Reese, Brigham Young University academic vice president.

Hall-Kenyon says, "I love the McKay School of Education and am grateful for the amazing faculty, staff, and students I have the opportunity to work with each day. I am excited about the future of the McKay School of Education."
